Every mother wants the chance to stay home and raise their children. Spending time with them when they’re young, helping influence their decisions and encourage them to make the right choice as they age, and seeing them off to college as they’re grown is something we all want, after all.

But the ‘real world’ has other ideas. Bills pile up, collectors come, and we’re forced to put our child in day care, or in the care of family members, as we go out to bring home the bacon and pay the bills.

But shouldn’t there be a better way? Why can’t we spend the most time with our children when they’re young and old, while paying the bills and keeping collectors at bay.

If you thought that this wasn’t possible, think again.

Working at home has become more and more popular, and mothers are finding that it’s an incredible chance to spend time with their children as they grow up and pay their bills with impressive efficiently.

So what opportunities are available to mothers as a part - or full - time income?

More and more people are realizing how incredible eBay really is. If you’ve never been on it before, grab a cup of tea, sit back, and start surfing.

Buying things for eBay to sell can be a little tough, but if you’re crafty enough you can do anything. Use your craft skills to create clothing, sell quilts, and more.

If you have a great eye, garage sale shopping can be a way to spend time with your children and gather unique treasures to sell. Beautiful vases, carvings, unique dishes and clothing… all would sell wonderfully, and can be picked up for a bargain.

You can also work at any hours, and all you’ll need to be sure of is having enough packing supplies, and a ride to the post office once or twice a week. Easy, isn’t it?

Been around the block a few times when it comes to your children? Know what you’re doing when raising a few little tykes? Why don’t you put that invaluable information to use online, helping other moms!

Mommy advice has been around for a long time, but only recently has it been so accessible via the web. Starting your own website to give other mothers a place to search out advice from one who’s been through what they’re going through is the perfect way to put your wisdom to work.

You can sell ad space, and use affiliate programs to push quality products, to make a steady stream of income. You could also offer paid coaching sessions, when you get on the phone can help the mother - or father - along with their problems, from potty training to getting the toddler to sleep each night.

Don’t let your incredible wisdom and experience go to waste!

Party Planning

Love throwing together the best birthday parties for your kids? Do you go all out with the cake, decorations, and ideas? Are you the queen of themed birthday parties?

Why not make a business of it? Themed parties for kids is massively popular, and mothers are often finding themselves with little time, or experience, planning the ultimate party for their children. This is where you would come in!

With your party planning business, you could sit down with the parents and discuss how much money they want to spend, what sort of theme they’d like, and how much room they have. You could formulate a plan, and get to businesses!

If this much work isn’t appealing, you could also offer pre-planned parties - princess, cowboy, video game themes and more - and charge a flat fee per child, or per party. Getting the decoration would be easier, and you could buy from a wholesaler, and stock up.

Working at home isn’t hard - with a little creativity, you can do almost anything, and make a good income at it. You also get the chance to be there for your children as they grow and learn, and create priceless memories each and every day.

You can have it all.
