One of the great things about the Internet is that it has brought literally millions of people the opportunity to make a living while staying at home. So what do you do if you want a work at home job, but don’t want to be an Internet marketer? How do you sort out the real opportunities from the scams? And most importantly where do you go to look for these jobs? One thing’s for sure, you don’t have to be an Internet marketer to benefit from and use the Internet to make a living. If you have business, clerical, customer service, bookkeeping, sales, transcription, typing, human resources, or writing you can make a living by working from home. If you can copy and paste from your computer, if you can answer a phone, if you can send email you can make a living from home.

So, how do you tell what’s a scam and what isn’t? First of all, if something sounds to good to be true it probably is. Be very suspicious of offers that speak of automated systems to generate income. Stay away from any system that is going to require you to purchase their system to make money. Frankly, and I am not saying that all these people are scammers, but a long sales letter with the author sitting in his super expensive XYZ sports car parked in front of a big fancy house always makes me put on the critical thinking cap.

So how do you find a work from home job? Obviously you go online. The problem is that to many of the supposed work at home job sites are complete garbage. Unfortunately, you can’t count on Google, MSN or Yahoo! to help you find quality sites for this. For example, as I write this, the first result Google returns is http://www.worldwideworkathome.com/ and it’s JUNK, at lest that’s my opinion. It is designed to show up well in Google, but it’s just full of links that lead to other sites like Indeed and CareerBuilder. And, no surprise here, it is full of ads from Google’s Adsense which are placed in such a way as to trick you into clicking on them.

One job board for people who want to find work at home jobs which has been around for awhile and which doesn’t except any commercial ads is Home Job Stop. They charge a nominal one time fee, and by nominal, I mean under $25.00 for a lifetime of access. They also give you a free ebook “Finding the Perfect Job.”

What else I like about it, and you’ll see what I mean when you click through to it Here. Try it out and look for a future write up from me on the various places where you can find freelance jobs.

I have been working from home since March 2006. The very best place to go to find work at home jobs is http://www.workplacelikehome.com. It is a message board with all kinds of jobs. They are all legitimate and I have been able to make ends meet!

    Take a look at it!
