Not too tough huh? They all want to match you with at home business opportunities. Believe it or not they all also collect information for one company: Cutting Edge Media, Inc. In fact if you were watching the addresses in your browser you will have noticed that some of them go to different pages on the same website, collect the same information, but look different. Of course Cutting Edge Media, Inc are far from the only ones doing this work, but they’ll serve as a fine example.

What’s this all about?

So what’s the story? And is this a scam? First, no it’s not a scam at least this company is legit. Cutting Edge Media, Inc. generates leads for businesses. They take the information that you provide about yourself and what kind of business you’re looking to start and sell that information to companies that are looking for individuals who are interested in starting their own businesses.

What do they tell the franchisers?

What they tell the companies they are selling leads to is, “All of our biz-opp leads have requested more information, either online or offline, about how they can start their own business.” This is obviously true based on the information you provide.

Is it safe to give them my information?
In general it’s probably safe, just realize that they are going to take your contact information and distribute it as far and wide as they can. The benefit of this is that now you have people contacting you about starting your own home business as opposed to having to seek them out. The downside is you don’t get to control who contacts you and you can’t count on them having been pre-screened as legitimate or scam based companies so you will need to assess this for each of the companies that contacts you.
