A lot of people try their hand at making money online from their own home, hoping to be able to spend more time with their family or out with friends, and less time cooped in a cubical going no where.

The sad fact is that a lot of people also get ripped off by get rich quick scams that are all over the internet. Pyramid marketing, huge payments made to ‘gurus’ who supposedly ‘teach you secrets’, and downright bad schemes make up a large part of the online market today.

It’s gotten so very bad that many people are avoiding even the thought of making money online at all, instead settling for less than their potential, and less than what they’re truly worth.

Well, you can make money online; there are real opportunities out there, if you can wade through the get rich quick schemes and money sucking gurus. Here are a few sure fire tips to spot and avoid get rich quick scams before you start.

Does It Sound Too Good To Be True?

This is the first thing. All letters, websites, and emails will make their product - if it’s good or not - sound good. There’s no question about that. But, does it sound too good to be true?

Your first tip off to a bad dealing is if they’re promising you thousands of dollars a week with little to no work. A real chance will tell you that you can make money, but you will have to work, at least for a while in the beginning.

Don’t get caught up in their lies and false promises, either, because the minute that you do, you’ll find yourself paying out a lot more than you can afford, or wanted to pay in the first place. Keep a steady head when reading promises, because not all promises are kept.

Is It a Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) Scheme?

It’s true; there are people who make money doing multi level marketing. But there is little to no selling involved, and most of the time, it’s getting other people to join that can bring in the cash. The real money in this scheme isn’t made by people like you, who are their four hundred thousandth member, but the first few at the very top of the scheme.

Sure, you might be able to make some money. But it won’t be what they’re promising, that’s for sure - and without a doubt, you won’t be making the Big Bucks that the big men at the top are making. In the end, you probably will put more time in it than it’s worth, and will come back disappointed and empty handed.

Do Your Research Before

Don’t touch that wallet! Drop that credit card now! Put that check back where it belongs!

Before you spend a dime on any product, company, or person, do your research. This is the most important part of trying to make money online, because if you don’t know what you’re doing before you start, you will almost certainly get scammed. No question about it.

Search for the company that you’re looking into working with, or the product that you’re looking to use Simply Googling the same of the product, with the word ‘Review’ at the end may come up with exactly what you’re looking for.

Find out what positive things people have said about this, and what negative experiences they have had. Don’t put all weight in one review - spread them out and see if you can find a pattern of positive or negative reviews.

Remember that, you may feel hassle at looking each product that you want to try up, it’s a lot less stress then finding out you’ve been scammed of hundreds of dollars!

Don’t Buy the Testimonials

Many companies will post testimonials on their website of happy customers and satisfied, million-dollar-making clients.

Don’t buy it!

These testimonials are probably what their team of writers came up with to sound good. Don’t expect them to be real, or legitimate. That doesn’t mean that the company won’t make you money, but you need to find personal, real, unbiased reviews.

Even if the company gives you a number or two of ‘real clients’ who have had ‘real results’, you shouldn’t go with that alone. Numerous companies have been caught with scamming consumers by paying someone a few hundred dollars to answer their phone every now and then and say that they were happy with the product - even if they’ve never heard of it!

Use your head when looking into money making opportunities. Don’t get scammed, and make sure you know what you’re getting into before you jump in. Playing it smart will make you money - you might as well not play at all if you’re going to do it any other way.
