Beware World Market Systems Alias Explosive Dollars etc.
Don’t bite on these “opportunities” ExplosiveDollars.com and World Market Systems , or you may be sorry. Since Explosive Dollars is just a disguised World Market Systems site, I’ll simplify by just talking about World Market Systems and I will use WMS for short though I am not aware that they use this anywhere in their materials.
The Claim
WMS claims that, “For a small fee, (under a hundred-fifty bucks), World Market Systems will do all the work to set anybody up with a great website to make money in the affiliate business.” Frankly this sounds great. A lot, if not most of us, who are internet marketers types or want to make money from a home based business don’t have the skills to make websites. I’ve spent tons of hours teaching myself how to do this and if I could get a descent site for $150.00 I would jump at the opportunity. The problem is that this isn’t the main thrust of WMS.
Anonymous Whistle Blower’s View
In researching WMS to see if it would be a good opportunity for me I found a report on Ripoff Reports from a man who claimed to work for WMS. Not only does he seem to know the tactics they use, by reading other complaints about this company it appears there are some common themes all laid out by this man’s report.
According to a Jack who purports to have worked for WMS, when you get in touch with them, “They will get you to buy a package. Either 149 (silver) , 288 (gold) , or 477 (platinum)” package. (Jack doesn’t make this clear but the various prices determine how many affiliate programs they add to your site.) He states that they will drop their prices to as low as $99.00. If you haven’t learned it yourself yet $97.00 and $99.00 are magical numbers in marketing. Who wouldn’t try something out that could make them hundreds of thousands if it only cost them $99.00 to try it out. None the less these are high pressure tactics and not a scam. So is there more?
Jack points out that once they have you hooked they start the upsell. Now in my mind, there’s nothing unethical about an upsell, this is a tactic used by brick and mortar businesses and by online companies to get you to purchase additional items or services, based on your past buying behavior. Where things to get a little iffy, at least by Jack’s account, is that with the WMS system you get a “Coach” according to Jack the coach is in place to inform you of more things that you need to purchase from WMS, if this is true the transaction has crossed an ethical line.
Other People’s Complaints
Here’s what others are saying about this company on Ripoff Reports:
“I spent $5,000.00 in April of 2006 and as of this date and time, I have made a grand total of $288.50. Gee whiz, I could pick up aluminum cans on the side of the road and make more money than what I have made with your company.”
“I just recently purchased their package, if you want to call it that! Now I am wishing that I hadn’t, because I could have used that money to pay my rent, but I was hoping for a miracle. Instead I have been scammed yet again. Yes its happened to me before. You would think that I would learn.”
Advice for Dealing with World Market Systems
Jack has some good advice if you decide to evaluate WMS
- Ask questions like HOW does it work?
- Why have you taken your company over seas?
- Ask to see 5 people’s WMS sites?
What if you have already signed up with World Market Systems
- If you feel you have been taken by WMS complain and complain loudly because it appears that the individuals who do so eventually get some satisfaction and often a partial refund.
- If you have just recently signed up, and you don’t like the results or what you’re hearing, cancel immediately.
- Do not wait 90 days to cancel.
- If you have spent thousands of dollars it may be worth retaining a lawyer who may get satisfaction for you just by giving them a call as your attorney.

In my research I discovered there are many other sites that are either affiliates of or actually belong to World Market Systems, so I decided to make a list. If you know of other sites that are affiliated with this company please post a comment with their address but don’t hyperlink it.

What really made me upset about the numerous reports I read of the problems people were having with this company was that many of them were seniors or people in desperate situations.
If you’ve had any experiences with any of these sites, please post a comment to enlighten us all.

Yesterday I got an email from a woman who had just signed up for WMS. Unfortunately, she miss typed her email address so I am posting her message here and my reply to it below. I hope you get this, if you are that person. If anyone else has suggestions for her, please add them below.
I just ordered the world market systems package a few days ago….I get sick thinking about it. I checked the better business bureau…nothing but resolved issues…Please tell me what to do so that MAYBE I can recap some of my losses. I,ve been out of work for almost two years do to neck surgery and back problems. I am suppose to wait till this Thurs. to call them. Thats when they said everything would be up and running…I bought a big ticket marketing program with it…WHAT SHOULD I DO ????????? HELP!!!
My response:
If I were in your shoes the first thing I would do is to call my credit card company and tell them to reverse the charge. Do it right away before you talk to WMS. If they your cc asks why tell them you have located numerous fraud / scam reports on regarding this company.
If your credit card company won’t do this until you have disputed it with the merchant then don’t wait, call wms right away and tell them you have changed your mind and you’re no longer interested and you want your them to reverse the charge. Be ready for high pressure sales when you do this. Document the call, first and last name of the person you speak with, their extension and their position in the company. If they won’t tell you then document this. You want all the info you can get for when you call your credit card company back.
Up till now I’ve been assuming you paid for this on a cc but if it was via check go through all the same things with your bank account. The important thing is not to wait and to document all interactions with wms.
Finally, please post your request for help at http://www.mollymoneybags.com/scams/beware-world-market-systems-alias-explosive-dollars-etc/ in the comment section for wms, so that others who have been through this may be able to give you more suggestions.
Hi, I too have been a victim. I decided to go for the whole 9 yards. The $477 website and the large advertising package. It has been about a month and so far nothing as well, after reading all of these comments and others I don’t even want to try and promote this business in my own town…sending others to be ripped off. I also am feeling kind of sick all of a sudden reading comments from others who were scammed. I am going to follow Molly’s advice tomorrow to try and get a refund. I am nervous even thinking about it. Those guys are slick. I also felt pushed into starting the program. I will keep you posted on my progress. Anyone who had had success receiving a refund please any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
