Make Extra Money Online

Published by

One of the first things people usually say when I tell them that I make money online (I am not talking huge amounts here, but enough to make the mortgage, build some savings and work from home) is, “So, anyone make extra money online…?” It’s kind of half question, and half disbelief that someone like me can make money on the Internet. If you met me in person you’d probably ask the same thing. :-) I am never offended, it usually just hasn’t occurred to the speaker how easy it is to make money on the Internet. What really gets them is when I tell them the you don’t even need your own website to do it.

It’s the kind of thing that if you read it in a sales letter you would think it was a get rich quick thing, too good to be true, and you’d move on. But when you’re standing there talking to someone who does it and isn’t trying to sell you a thing, but is just giving you the information because you asked, you slow down and wonder what it’s all about.

Actually that’s kind of how it happened to me. I was visiting an in-law who was literally raking in the cash with, Adsense, by the way so I thought, “Well if he can do it I guess just about anyone should be able to.”

Of course, back then you really needed your own website, but today things have changed to the point that that’s no longer the case. How so? Today there are services that allow you to use their sites to make money. Usually they take a split, but they often provide all the tools you need to be making money in minutes. One of these services that I use is Squidoo.com. You can check out my green weddings lens that I built in about 15 minutes. When someone buys a product or clicks a contextual advertising link from that site, I get a cut. I can have as many pages or “Lenses” as I want and they take care of all the hosting, provide links and relationships to the stores and all the rest.

Even if you’re not interested in making money online Squidoo.com is great for learning new things or making getting out the word about your favorite topic. Check out my lens
